Inspire your students, staff, or congregations to make a difference in the world.  Dr. Myers-Lipton  advocates solving poverty is possible, as the historical record demonstrates, and that we, as democratic citizens, have an important role to play to end poverty.

Scott Myers-Lipton, an Associate Professor at San José State University, is the author of numerous scholarly articles on civic engagement, education, and racism.

For the past 15 years he has helped students examine solutions to poverty by taking them to live at homeless shelters, the Navajo and Lakota nations and to Kingston, Jamaica.  Dr. Myers-Lipton is currently on a nation-wide speaking tour.  He is also, with his wife, the owner of The Sequoia Retreat Center which is 45 minutes from San Jose, CA.
